How Saldify works

Split shared costs with people you trust, then settle in real money. Each debt becomes a QR code the person who owes scans with their own banking app. The transfer goes bank to bank, and no money flows through Saldify.

The loop

Four steps to even

Nobody keeps a spreadsheet and nobody chases anybody. Saldify tracks the running balance and hands you a way to settle when the trip is over.

  1. 1

    Create a group

Name it for the trip, the flat, or the dinner. The group is ready the moment you name it, and you are the first person in it.

  2. 2

    Share the link

Send one link to everyone. They open it and join the group in a tap, then start adding what they spent. The link is all they need.

  3. 3

    Add expenses as you go

Log what you paid and who it was for. Split evenly, by shares, or by exact amounts. Saldify keeps a running balance so nobody does the math at the table.

  4. 4

    The differentiator

Settle by QR, bank to bank

Saldify works out who pays whom in the fewest transfers, then shows a QR for each one. This is the same Get Paid sheet you will use in the app.

    • Scanned with the banking app you already use
    • Amount and recipient prefilled, so there is nothing to type
    • The money moves account to account, never through Saldify

Questions

Frequently asked

The short version of how splitting and settling actually work in Saldify.

How do people join my group?

You share one invite link. Anyone who opens it can join the group in a tap and start adding what they spent. Everyone in the group sees the same running balance.

How does settling by QR work, and which banking apps can scan it?

When a balance is owed, Saldify shows a QR code for that transfer. The person who owes scans it in their own banking app, where the amount and recipient are already filled in, then confirms. The code follows the European EPC standard, so most banking apps across the euro area can read it.

Does my money go through Saldify?

It does not. Every transfer runs straight from one bank account to another. Saldify shows the code, and once the transfer is done someone in the group marks the balance as settled.

Is my IBAN stored?

Your IBAN is saved to your account, where it is used to build the QR that others scan to pay you. It is tied to your account, never to a group, and you can remove it from your account page at any time. Anything you type on a payment screen to pay someone else is never saved.

What happens if someone leaves a group?

Their past expenses stay in the group so the history and balances stay correct. Anything they still owe or are owed remains visible until it is settled.

Can we split things unevenly?

Yes. Split an expense evenly, by shares when one person covers more, or by exact amounts when everyone paid a different part. Saldify keeps the running total correct either way.

What currency does Saldify use?

Balances are in euro. Amounts are shown in one consistent euro format across the app.
